Raising Global Conciousness

A grant from NSF funded a comprehensive evaluation of the Global Communities Program and “Linked” History and English Programs at Newton South High School.  The findings helped faculty understand the impact of these programs on students’ attitudes about global issues and perceptions of their teachers, classes and school community.  By comparing baseline data to end-of-year data of students in three different programs, faculty could show changes in attitudes, knowledge and understanding of global issues as well as feelings about the classroom environment.
